How can I open Unix Executable File files on my Mac laptop???!!! HELP ASAP!?

I filmed a short on the Canon 7D and imported the files from the camera onto my external hard drive. When I plug the hard drive into my computer some files show up as the actual footage picture and others as grey icons. The picture icons will open and play on quicktime, but the grey icons will not open and I do not know which application to use to open them. The grey files are takes that I need for this short and I have no idea how to open them-unless they are not my shots at all. HELP!! I need to know ASASP! I need to edit over the weekend.
