Thirst No.3 by Christopher Pike?

I have read Thirst No.1 and Thirst No.2 (by Christopher Pike). In the No.2 Sita goes back in time and kills the first vampire. Can someone who has read Thirst No.3 tell me how vampires now exist? How did Sita become a vampire? Thanks.
